Discovering the Wonder of God: Two Profound Thoughts

The journey to understanding the greatness of God is transformative. When we truly grasp His love, wisdom, and purpose for our lives, it changes everything about how we see ourselves and the world. The Bible, as God’s revelation, offers us insights into His divine character and His plans for us. Let’s dive deeper into two profound truths that highlight His love and purpose for humanity.

1. God Knew You Before You Were Born

One of the most extraordinary aspects of God’s nature is His omniscience—His ability to know everything, including our lives, before we even exist. Consider the powerful words God spoke to Jeremiah when calling him to be a prophet:

"Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.'” – Jeremiah 1:4-5

This statement reveals a profound truth: God’s knowledge of us predates our physical existence. Before we were formed, God knew every detail about us—our personality, our potential, and the plans He has for our lives. This is not just about Jeremiah; it’s a reality for all of us.

What Does This Mean for Us?

1. God’s Love is Personal: You are not an accident or a random occurrence. God designed you with intention and purpose. He formed you in the womb with love and care, crafting every aspect of who you are.

2. God’s Purpose is Eternal: Just as Jeremiah was ordained for a specific mission, God has a unique calling for your life. Whether it’s to lead, serve, create, or inspire, your life has divine significance.

3. God’s Knowledge is Complete: He knows your joys, struggles, and fears. Nothing surprises Him, and He is always ready to guide and support you.

An Invitation to Know Him

This truth should fill you with awe and gratitude. The Creator of the universe not only knows you but also invites you to know Him. It’s an invitation to step into a relationship where you can discover the depths of His love and the greatness of His plans for your life.

If you haven’t yet accepted this invitation, now is the perfect time. Seek Him in prayer, open His Word, and begin this incredible journey.

2. Great Blessings for Those Who Follow Him

Paul’s letter to the Colossians beautifully illustrates the blessings that come with following Jesus. Here’s what he wrote:

"We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth." – Colossians 1:3-6

This passage reminds us that faith in Christ transforms every aspect of our lives. It brings hope, love, and a deep connection to God and others.

The Fruits of Faith

1. Hope in Heaven: Faith in Jesus offers a hope that is eternal. This hope is not rooted in the fleeting pleasures or struggles of this world but in the promise of eternal life with God.

2. Love for Others: True faith produces love—love for God and love for the people around us. This love is evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

3. A Life That Bears Fruit: The gospel is alive and active, producing spiritual fruit in the lives of believers. As you grow in your faith, you become a vessel of God’s grace, bringing hope, peace, and transformation to those around you.

Paul continues:

"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy." – Colossians 1:9-11

The Power of a Christ-Centered Life

1. Wisdom and Understanding: God doesn’t just call us to follow Him blindly. He provides wisdom and spiritual understanding so we can know His will and live in a way that pleases Him.

2. Strength and Joy: Life can be challenging, but those who trust in God are strengthened by His power. This strength brings joy, even in the face of trials.

3. A Glorious Inheritance: Paul reminds us that we are not only saved from sin but also made heirs of God’s kingdom. We are delivered from darkness and brought into the light of His Son, Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice, we have redemption, forgiveness, and a new identity as children of God.
